To all of you who are still reading The Meshugenuh, I am truly happy to be back. I have taken some time off to watch my MLB Package and to list 1000's of trading cards on Ebay. I first want to give a shout out to Lee "The Man", who has the best cards and chix salad on the planet. I will next give mad props to the Detroit Tigers who are in 1st Place in the MLB. I will write as often as possible and will try to keep all of you up to date with all the things happening in sports.

George Mason?

The real George Mason is still alive and a 250-1 underdog to win the NCAA Tourney, the other two are dead.

What the F-BOMB happened! This year's March Madness has been a little strange, to say the least. As many of you know, George Mason plays in the Colonial Conference and somehow made it all the way to this year's Final Four. You begin to realize that the smaller conferences may not be as bad as you thought. The thing that gets me going, is the fact that Hofstra beat George Mason not once, but twice this year. Does that mean that Hofstra could have beat the Spartans? Does it mean they could have beat U-Conn? Could Hofstra be the NCAA Champs this year? I don't know, but I will sure find out after I play a head to head matchup on Playstation 2!

For those of you who actually care, Japan won the World Baseball Classic over Cuba 10-6 on Monday night. I believe the Japanese team truly deserved to win and that the United States team could care less. Why do they have this stupid tournament anyway? Does anyone realize how many of the players would rather be at spring training with their real teams? I happened to be one of the true baseball dorks who actually watched these pathetic games and I was pissed. I thought the Dominican or Cuban team were the best by far. Cuba really impressed me because I have never even heard of one single player. I also think that MLB owners should start placing things in their players contract clauses such as: I A-ROD will not participate in the World Baseball Classic and will report straight to spring training with the Yankees. Why should these ridiculously high paid athletes play in the Olympics and other world events when they could get injured and lose their ridicously high paying jobs? Tell me what u think!

Wow, it has been 10 days since I last posted on my blog. And if I were you, I probably would be pretty ticked off with the Meshugenuh. This is your chance to hate and write your comments below this post. Talk smack, talk shit, send threats, player hate, be crude, be rude, please just (F-BOMBING) write something, so I can get a better understanding of how I can improve my sports blog. Unlike other bloggers out there, I have a life and I do this for the decent folks of this world and lately I feel that not many people really care about what the Meshugenuh thinks!

Well, I haven't written in a long time and this time I'm not making any excuses. What I will do is keep everyone up to date with what is happening in the Baseball world as of March 9th. I will begin by talking about the 2006 World Baseball Classic. I recently watched the U.S. team lose to our neighbors to the North (Oh Canada) and it sucked to see A-Rod get on base only to have Mark Teixeira ground out to first to lose 8-6! This post will be short and sweet. The Winter Olympics are alright, but I love when the commentators talk smack about the figure skaters. I will show you tonight what I love about the Olympics and I don't mean to be crude:

If you don't watch 24, you don't know JACK!

This has nothing to do with sports tonight, it has everything to do with JACK. If you don't watch24, you don't know Jack! Jack Bauer is the main protagonist in Fox's hit series 24. The reason why I write about Jack tonight is because its the most Meshugenuh show on television. For those of you that don't watch 24, stop reading this post now and go out and rent or buy season one. For those of you like myself and the Meshugenugget who treat 9:00 Monday nights as a holy holiday, you folks will love the subject of this post tonight.

First of all, what is the deal with Edgar and Chloe, why don't they just kiss and make out? You know Edgar loves that weirdo more then he loves anything else besides the Yankees and a big fat bowl of his mother's pasta. Secondly, why has Jack not died yet? He has technically died twice and somehow like a cat with nine lives, makes his way back each Monday night into our living rooms. He is immortal and has veins full of ice and heroin (lol)!

Also, why is the President such a pansy? He can't ever make up his own mind and always takes orders from traitors. I think his wife should strangle him and shoot the VP on a hunting trip and that in itself would make a great season SIX.

Finally, why do people on the show listen to "The Hobbit" aka "The Founder of the Goonies"? Honestly, would you listen to your boss if he looked and acted like a hobbit? For all I know, this
hobbit-goonie-meshugenuh is probably working with the terrorists and will try to kill Jack, which won't end up happening (because Jack is Jack).

Late Wednesday night, Darko Milicic of The Detroit pistons was traded along with Carlos Arroyo, to The Orlando Magic for Kelvin Cato and a first round draft pick. I will include the article by: Larry Lage of the A.P entitled: Pistons Trade Millicic To Magic

I recently watched a show on HBO entitled: Real Sports w/Bryant Gumbel, when the subject of counterfeit autographs came up. I have always bought and sold many collectibles on Ebay and have dealt with autographed items on a weekly basis. I began to get suspicious when I saw the show on HBO and learned of this! Tonight we will explore two issues in the world of sports that really have nothing in common besides the fact that they're all Meshugenuh acts. The first Meshugenuh is Rick Tocchet who on Wednesday got an idefinite leave of absence for an illegal gambling ring he was involved in.
I have included the story so I don't have to write anymore about this idiot.

The Rich Tocchet Incident

The other person I will be talking about is Joe Montana. Joe was supposed to take part at pre-game ceremonies with the other past MVP's for Super Bowl XL, but never showed up. He claims he was supposed to get $100,000 for his appearance but never got it and left on Friday. We later find out that he returned home on Friday to attend his sons' weekend basketball games.

Joe was also quoted by stating "The Super Bowl is important to a lot of people but, to me, it was more important that I was home with my boys." This whole episode is a bunch of B.S.! Who gives a damn where Joe goes or if he wants to spend time with his family? All I care about is the fact that he was supposed to be at the Super Bowl festivities and he skipped town early. The Meshugenuh was quoted on Wednesday by stating "Joe, Detroit thinks you suck and we hope you watch every stinking basketball game your spoiled kids play."

I recently told all of you that I would be done writing about Hockey until the Stanley Cup...
I lied! I know most of you reading this blog are from the Midwest or from our neighbors to the north (O Canada). With that being said, I will give you a brief synopsis of what's going on in the NHL. Here are my favorite new players:

"Ok. Last summer I went to Vegas with a couple of friends. I don't know if most of you are familar with Vegas but its a city for gambling. We stayed at the Ceasers Palace Hotel. It was awesome, great shops and buffets and crap. We watched a couple of magic shows also. It was awesome. Then the last 2 nights my friends and I started to gamble at the tables. We played alot of BlackJack. I was up about $500 and my friend was down about $100. My other two friends were at the slots, they aren't big gamblers.

Anyways, my friend and I started getting a lot of bad luck and started losing pretty bad. We ending losing about $1000 each. I ending doing something really stupid. I went to the ATM and went into my savings account. I ended up losing almost all my savings trying to win my money back. Now I have almost no money for school and stuff.

When we came home at the end, my friends all went home and I went back to my apartment with my other hardcore gambler friend. He also lost alot of money but not nearly as much as I did. Now that I'm home, I realized I can't afford to pay the rent this month and my friend might have to spot me. I have a pretty crappy job off campus at my school so I'm going to have to start working many more hours. I can't really ask my parents for money because they would get mad at me. I don't know what to do now to pay for my car issurance and my rent and all my other expenses.

So to get some money quick, my friend said he had a friend that can loan me a bunch of cash if I wanted. I met his friend (I should've known this was going to end bad) and he gave me about $5,000 cash. Remember people, this was last summer so its been about 6 months.

Back to the story, so I ended borrowing some money. I never really got more hours or a second job so I didn't have enough money to pay his friend back for the next 3-4 months. The last time my friend saw him, he told my friend that I have to pay him back $10,000!! I was like wtf, no way so I wanted to go talk to him. I ended up trying to avoid him because I didn't really know what to do and I had no where near that amount of money. The next couple of weeks, he kept trying to get a hold of me but I just told him that I will give him the money as soon as I get it.

Now, just this last week, my friend gave him my cell # cause he really wanted his money back. I have about half of it so I was going to call him and tell him. I was pretty nervous about talking to him because I didn't know if he was going to raise the amount of money I owed him or not. This next part of the story is where things get a little crazy...

I was walking around my neigherhood in LA with one of my other friends. It was pretty depressing. I was just walking around thinking of what I did. I had about half the money My friend and I were going to give him in my savings account. So we were walking home from the grocery store around the corner. We saw our old highschool as I was walking home. I started remembering the good old days when I use to hang out with my friends living at home not caring about work or the future. I was thinking how fun it was playing basketball on the school court. For some reason, We ended up walking towards the school just to get the feeling of the good old days. I saw some kids playing basketball. Then, I saw him. I saw my friend's friend that loaned me the money. I was scared for my life. He was with 2 other pretty big guys and since I have been avoided them.

Then the kids playing basketball accidently shot an airball my way. I took the ball and i threw it my hardest towards the my friends friends head. I left my grocerys and we started running as fast as we could. I looked back and I saw the 3 guys running after us. A million things were running through my head at this point. We ended up running into a dead-end. There was a wall and 2 classrooms on the sides. I started trying to climb the wall but the guys were too close behind us. They caught me and pulled me off the wall. Then they threw me on the ground and told me to give them the money. They held my friend back as they started going my pockets for the money. Then the 2 kids playing basketball ended up showing up because they saw the guys chasing us. They started fighting and one of the loan shark's friend pulled out a gun and the other pulled out a knife. Thats when I realized... they were up to no good, started making trouble in our neighborhood i got in one little fight and my mom got scared she said your moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air i whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and had dice in the mirror if anything i could say that this cab was rare but i thought nah, forget it yo home to bel-air! i-pulled- up to a house about seven or eight i yelled to the cabbie yo home, smell you later looked at my kingdom i was finally there to sit on my throne as the prince of bel-air."

Kobe Bryant "Slam Dunk Giant" Scores 81 Points!

I didn't plan on writing a post this early on Monday morning but how could I resist?

Here is why I write on such short notice:

Kobe Bryant scored 81 points in LA Lakers' 122-104 win over Toronto on Sunday - the second highest total in the history of the NBA. Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points for Philadelphia in 1962 and only two other players have ever scored more than 70. Bryant, 27, improved on his own personal scoring best of 62 points, set against Dallas last December. "I couldn't dream of this when I was a kid," said Bryant. "I was a little tired at the end, but motivated."

Kobe had only 26 first half point and scored 55 points in the second half (2nd best in NBA history). Only David Robinson, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlain broke the 70 point mark in their careers. Is Kobe better then Air Jordan? Here is the box score from last night:

Kimbo Slice

For those of you out there who have never heard of Kimbo Slice here he is:

Kimbo, cousin of Emmanuel Augustus, is a badass Miami enforcer who fights for purses of 3-5 g's on a regular basis. He'll put up his money up against yours to find out who is superior. He doesn't care if it's at your place of work or in your own backyard. If you're willing to put up the dough, he'll fight you for it. In the clip below he attempts to earn more green by going heads up against another stocky brawler named Byrd. For those of you who don't know the full story behind that video, here goes. Kimbo Slice (amazingly that's his last name) is an ex-con who did ten years of hard time but was finally released about 10 months ago.

He fights in underground boxing matches from time to time winning purses that range from 3-10 thousand gs. This year alone, he's 9-1. His lone loss was suffered when his opponent used mace. Kimbo acknowledges the loss because he says, "I shoulda kicked his ass much faster and knocked the bitch out cold. And before the fight we said no weapons, but didn't say no mace." Backed by the owner of a popular Miami based porn website, Kimbo earned his first 10 thousand dollar purse when he knocked out that same opponent in a rematch. The bout took but a mere 10 seconds. Not taking any chances, Kimbo pounced on his opponent 5 times after he was out cold. Kimbo is well aware that underground fighting is illegal but he cannot help it. He can't earn a decent living through legit means because of his prison track record.

If you were a big bad ass in his situation and someone came up to you and said, "I know someone who will fight you for 10 grand heads up", you might consider it also. Kimbo is now considering turning pro through the advice of his cousin, Emmanuel Augustus, and local boxing trainers in Miami. Once he turns pro, he will leave his underground fighting days behind. As he contemplates the countless possibilities, Kimbo will continue to fight in underground battles to provide for himself and his disabled mother. As Kimbo so eloquently put it, "That's how a nigga eat."

Marinelli will put the M back in Motown!

In the news today was the hiring of the Detroit Lion's new head coach, Rod Marinelli. Marinelli, who spent the past 10 seasons in Tampa Bay as Defensive line coach, sort of sounds like the right man for the job (I think?). Why didn't we interview Wayne Fonts? We actually had a good team back then and I wouldn't have minded Fonts coaching the new Lions.

Anyway, back to Rod, he is a Vietnam Veteran and admits that there's one voice for leadership...mine! Marinelli has never been a head coach at any level in football. He was the assistant coach @ T.B. and has also helped coach Utah State, Arizona State, California, and USC (for 1 year). Marinelli is a young gun...only 56 years old! Marinelli helped T.B. establish an NFL record with 69 straight games with at least one sack from 1999-2003, and also helped T.B. win the Super Bowl.

Over the last five years the Lions have gone 21-59, worst among all teams in the league. Marinelli who signed a 4-year contract has to follow in the footsteps of Steve Mariucci and Marty Morningweg. These are the 3 M's for Detroit:

Detroit is known for Marshall Mathers (Eminem), Madonna, and Motown...will Matt Millen and Rod Marinelli be added to this list one day?

I'm very skeptical about our new coach, but I wish him all the luck in the world coaching a team led by a piano player. I guarantee that if we had hired a coach for the Lions without an M in his name we would have had a Super Bowl Title by now. Tell me what you think.

The NBA may need to put walls up around the court in the near future if players continue to jump into the crowd. Last night, Antonio Davis proceeded to jump into the crowd to protect his wife from a disgruntled fan. We will find out his punishment later on this week, but I'm hoping its not too harsh. Hello Gang and welcome back to the Greatest Sports Blog on the Planet! I just got back from Vegas and I'm trying to recuperate from the bets I made on the trip. First, I will show you that I'm not perfect and even I can jump on the band-wagon sometimes! Here are 2 of my pathetic picks that I miserably lost last weekend:

Indy -10 (This was by far the worst bet I made on the entire trip but it turned out to be an epic game)

I did the unthinkable and bet on Harvard to cover a game over Dartmouth. For those of you out there who don't follow Ivy-League basketball, (Harvard will be the Ivy-League conference selection for the "Big Dance" this year). I stand by my team and you heard it here first, Bet on Harvard with the points from here on out!

Wow, this is a great game on ESPN 2 right now live from Illinois. I love the Spartans, but I believe that Dee Brown is the best player in the country. He has so much upside its ridiculous. Dee has 28 points right now and is shooting 10-16 as we speak. I hope MSU wins, but Dee is playing like Michael Jordan. Stay tuned for the final outcome.....

I want to give mad props to Shawn Alexander for receiving the NFL MVP this season.
Alexander really deserved the title over Payton Manning in my opinion. Here are Shawn's stats for the 2005-2006 season. For all of you out there that have the first pick in your fantasy draft take Alexander dude!

Finally, I want to apologize to anyone who knows me and took USC last night. As I stated before, I have wrongly predicted the National Championship Game for the 4th straight year.

First of all, go USC Trojans. This is the first time in a while when I truly believe that the favorite will cover in the BCS Championship Bowl. Last year I was totally wrong by telling my friends to bet on Oklahoma over USC. I have learned my lesson and I hope that everyone took USC and the under tonight.

The second topic of the evening is Sidney Crosby. If you shop on E-Bay you already know that his rookie cards are going for around $200 a pop. The reason why I bring this up tonight is the fact that you can buy boxes of 05-06 Upper Deck Hockey at your local Meijers (in Michigan) or at other retail shops around the country and sell them on E-bay to make a nice profit. Example: I purchased 2 boxes today retail value= $19.99 and listed each box on E-bay for $40.00 each. You have a chance to get a brand spanking new Crosby rookie card, but why take the chance. Let someone else open the packs and find it. If anyone out there has found any boxes for $19.99- email me and I will buy them off you. I still want a Crosby rookie card as well so keep that in mind and also email me if you have one and are willing to sell it.

Happy New Years to everyone! I hope all of you have caught at least one bowl game this past week. The Muffin man claims he will be lying on his couch with the ewok dog watching college football for 14 straight hours today. Good luck buddy and try to stretch at halftime.

Anyway, I wanted to dedicate my post this evening to the loco Meshugenuh's of the sports world. I will list two articles that are closely linked to each other. Read the next excerpts and ask yourself: "What is Shackleford doing with a 19 year girl in his car speeding with guns and drugs?"

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (AP) -- Former NBA player Charles Shackleford was arrested on drug and weapon charges during a routine traffic stop. The 39-year-old Shackleford, who played at North Carolina State and with four NBA teams in six seasons, was arrested in Johnston County on Saturday by a North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper.

He faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine, Johnston County officials said Sunday. Shackleford, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., was released on $11,000 bond. Andrea Spencer, 19, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested for speeding. Shackleford is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in Johnston County. Spencer, who was released on a $500 bond, is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 13. Shackleford was suspended from N.C. State in 1986 because of poor grades, but was allowed to return. He was drafted in the second round in 1988 by the New Jersey Nets and later played with the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves and before ending his NBA career with the Charlotte Hornets after the 1989-99 season.

Clarett wanted on robbery charges

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Maurice Clarett was wanted by police on Sunday after he was accused of using a gun to rob two people in an alley behind a bar. The troubled former Ohio State running back fled when the bar owner or manager, who knew Clarett and the victims, came into the alley and identified him shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday. According to police, the 22-year-old Clarett left the scene in a white sport utility vehicle with two other men and took only a cell phone from his alleged victims, who weren't injured. He was wanted on two counts of suspicion of aggravated robbery. Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said he was informed of the incident on his way to the Fiesta Bowl news conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. Clarett helped the Buckeyes win the national championship in 2002 but has found only hard times since.

"Obviously, my reaction to that is it's sad," Tressel said, "because, as I said the last few times people have brought up the subject, my hope would be that he would have an opportunity to go over to NFL Europe and make a comeback.

"I hope it's not true, but beyond that, I don't know much, but my reaction is, I was sad."
Clarett sat out the 2003 season after he was charged with misdemeanor falsification for filing a police report claiming that more than $10,000 in clothing, CDs, cash and stereo equipment was stolen from a car he borrowed from a local dealership. He later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
Ohio State suspended Clarett for misleading investigators, and for receiving special benefits worth thousands of dollars from a family friend.

He later began an unsuccessful legal fight that went to the U.S. Supreme Court to be allowed in the NFL early. Clarett was chosen by the Denver Broncos in last year's draft, but the team cut him in August.

Tressel said he had spoken with Clarett "three or four times in the last six weeks."
"It's been along the lines of hoping he would have a chance to get things together and make a run at things with NFL Europe," the coach said.

Clarett would have been a senior on this year's Ohio State team, which meets Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl on Monday.

"It's real troubling," Tressel said of Clarett's fall. "Not just with youngsters that it becomes newsworthy, but with any kids who don't go the direction you know they're capable of or hope for them. It's one of the tough things when you compete. Sometimes things work out and you're successful and sometimes it doesn't. That doesn't have you back off from competing and teaching and trying to help people."

The Miami Heat-Cold as Ice!

Tonight, I would like to start off by congratulating the Detroit Pistons on their 106-101 victory over the Miami Heat last night. They are by far the best team the NBA has to offer. For those of you who caught the game on national T.V. last night (TNT), you got to see a true masterpiece. Detroit has been playing well on Defense and Offense this year which leads to balanced play on a consistent basis. If you happened to catch the game on Christmas Day you would have noticed that when Detroit decides to play Defense against the Defending Champion S.A. I would also like to transition this post into the recent announcement of Stan Van Gundy's retirement. On December 12, the Miami Heat announced that Stan Van Gundy had resigned as the Head Coach due to personal family reasons. Heat President Pat Riley assumed head coaching duties immediately. Van Gundy remains with the Miami Heat as an NBA free agent evaluator, while also assisting the team in other projects.

I noticed that Stan Van Gundy has been around in the news lately as two other look-alike characters: 1. Ron Jeremy (for those of you who don't know him...my site is rated PG, so I will only state that you may find him at the Bunny Ranch or the Playboy Mansion), or 2. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, not a good man at all: suspected mastermind of the September 11th attacks on the United States. You be the judge, its almost scary how similar these men look...

Sorry that I have not posted in a few days, but I was having a wonderful time at the cottage with Meshuge-Nugget! I will be very blunt tonight by stating that I have been out of the loop on sports for the last few days as well. What I will include tonight is one of the headlines in the MLB world which reads "Former star reliever arrested on robbery charges."

Here is the article by the Associated Press:

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) -- Jeff Reardon, one of the top relief pitchers in baseball history, was released on $5,000 bail after his arrest on charges of robbing a jewelry store. The 50-year-old former pitcher apologized to officers and blamed his actions on medication he is taking for depression, police said. He was released Tuesday night, with his arraignment set for Jan. 27.

Reardon, who retired in 1994 and ranks sixth in career saves, walked into Hamilton Jewelers at the Gardens Mall on Monday and handed an employee a note saying he had a gun and the store was being robbed, police said.

He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police found him at a nearby restaurant, recovered the stolen money and charged him with armed robbery. Lt. David O'Neill said Reardon didn't have a gun and offered no resistance when he was handcuffed.

"He said it was the medication that made him do it and that he was sorry," O'Neill said. He said Reardon has lived in the city for more than 20 years and has never caused problems.

Reardon's attorney, Mitchell Beers, said the former pitcher had a 20-year-old son who died of a drug overdose in February 2004, which has been "very difficult for him and his family," and has been on medication for depression. Reardon, who is married and has two other children, also underwent heart angioplasty last week and has been taking medication for that.

"He asked me to apologize to his fans and friends," Beers said. "This bizarre incident is completely uncharacteristic of Jeff Reardon."

He said Reardon, who made more than $11.5 million during his career, according to baseballreference.com, was not having financial problems.

The four-time All-Star was 73-77 with 367 saves and a 3.16 ERA in 16 seasons with the New York Mets, Expos, Twins, Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees. Reardon had a save in the Twins' 1987 World Series victory over St. Louis. But five years later, he gave up a decisive two-run homer to Toronto's Ed Sprague in the ninth inning, allowing the Blue Jays to tie Atlanta at one game apiece. Toronto eventually won the 1992 World Series in six games.

Bert Blyleven, Reardon's teammate on the 1987 championship team, said he knew Reardon was still deeply affected by his son's death.

"It's very uncharacteristic of Jeff Reardon to do what he did," said Blyleven, now a TV analyst for the Twins. "I've been very fortunate, and my wife has, not to lose any of our children. I can't imagine what he's going through in the holidays."

"Hopefully, he can get help and move forward on his life," Blyleven added. "Thank God no one was hurt."

It's really unbelievable that a man who made $11.5 million during his career and was not having financial problems would do such a thing. Just remember if you are on Reardon's medication, don't rob a jewlery store, and don't use your medication for an excuse for any problems you may be having.

Boy was last night an evening to remember for the ages! I first would love to talk about my favorite sport for those of you out there that don't know me which is...Baseball. My favorite team besides my hometown Detroit Tigers would have to be the "Evil Empire" N.Y. Yankees. My favorite player just happened to play for the Yank's biggest nemesis, the red sox (notice, not capitalized). This pile of hair will now roam Center Field in N.Y. and bring back another glorious championship in 06!

I will now review his numbers from last season: Damon batted .316, 10 HR, 75 RBI, 117 R, and 18 SB. My prediction for Damon on the Yankees this year will be similar, but I think he may hit 5-10 more HR's because of the dimensions of Yankee Stadium. Mad respect to the red sox fans who just lost their best player besides Big Poppy and Man-Ram. Big Poppy and Man-Ram will have 20 less RBIs in 06, because Johnny Hairball is the best lead off batter in the MLB. The red sox will suck next year. They may not even make the play-off's, but yes, I admit they deserved the World Series Title, but never again in my lifetime.

Now for the best head of hair competition:

Last night Kobe Bryant "the slam dunk giant" single-handedly overshadowed the Damon news. I have to give props to Kobe for scoring 62 points in 3 quarters against the Dallas Mavericks. Isn't it odd that Kobe is so Jordanesque with the same coach on the bench? I still think L.A. is a crappy team besides Odom and Bryant. The only players on any given night that could even put up 55 points would be A.I, Kobe, or King James! Furthermore, check out the box score and you will see how big of a ball hog Kobe really is (I still have love 4 ya).

Big Up's to Billups!!!

I write on this fine winter evening about my favorite player in the NBA: Mr. Big Shot, Chauncey Billups.

Last night, Chauncey Billups put Memphis away after missing last second shots in regulation and the first overtime. Billups nailed a 15-footer with 0.3 seconds left to give the Detroit Pistons a 106-104 double OT win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Billups finished the game shooting 8-18 from the field, 10-10 from the line, 4-7 from beyond the 3-point line, and finished with 30 points and 9 assists.

This season Chauncey Billups has been one of the top PG's in the NBA. He still won't start on the Eastern Conference NBA All-Star line-up because of A.I and Dwayne Wade, but he still deserves consideration for the NBA MVP!

Billups scored 28 points and an NBA best 19 assists against the Sacramento Kings last Wednesday night. Chauncey is averaging 19 points per game, 2.6 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 2.3 3-pointers/game this season.

I want to start this post tonight by stating that I truly feel for the die hard Lion's fans. I myself have been a Detroit Lion's fan since I was a very young boy. So it was strange that I didn't even feel the urge to watch the game last night. I looked up at the television only a handful of times, because I already knew the outcome.

I advised my friends who bet on the NFL, that once Mariucci was fired, bet against the Lions for the rest of the season. These players have nothing to play for anymore besides their contracts. I don't even think they care about the city they play in or even for their interim coach. Now here's where I'm going with this: The players definitely pretend to love the Ford family because that's who signs their checks, but when it comes to Matt Millen, we'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

I want to thank "The 30 year old Virgin" for his pictures from the Detroit-Green Bay game last Sunday night. And thanks to Sports Radio 1130 WDFN "The Fan" for holding the "Angry Fan March" in Detroit.

I myself at one time respected Matt Millen. I mean he did bring championships to 4 cities in:
Super Bowls XV and XVIII with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, Super Bowl XXIV with the San Francisco 49'ers, and Super Bowl XXVI with the Washington Redskins. Millen also made his mark in the NFL with a distinguished 12-year playing career at linebacker for Oakland/L.A. Raiders (1980-88), S.F. 49'ers (1989-90) and Washington Redskins (1991). He was the only player in NFL history to earn 4 Superbowl rings with 3 different teams.

Millen's credentials as a player could have got him hired by any team in the NFL and possibly even elected as the Governor of Minnesota. Then this happened...
Matt Millen was appointed President and CEO on January 9th, 2001. He only inherited 3 players on the current roster, DE Jared Devries, K Jason Hanson, and FB Corey Schlesinger. His 2003 and 2004 draft picks were acclaimed by the national media as the very best picks in the entire draft. In addition to his draft picks, Millen ~~hired~~ fired Head Coach Steve Mariucci, who helped the San Francisco 49'ers to four 10-win seasons. In my opinion, the best pick-up's on draft day made by Millen were: WR Roy Williams with the 7th pick in 2004 and RB Kevin Jones in the 1st round (30th overall) in 2004.

Thus I ask, why do the Fords think that a hard-hitting player like Millen would be a successful President? Do on-field skills really translate to the front office? Did Millen really need to come to Detroit to try and win a Super Bowl for the pathetic Lions? Ponder that and comment below.

I'm sitting here on my computer today typing away and trying to watch the UCLA-Michigan NCAA basketball game. As I type, the score reads UCLA-57, UofM -44. The actual line for the game is U of M -8. This brings me to the content of my post today. If you have ever bet on basketball you understand that most games are decided by last minute free-throws, or big runs in the last crucial minutes of a game. The reason I don't gamble myself is because I have been killed by missed free throws and last second half court three's to ruin my point spread.

Thoughts for December 16th

I'm back, last night absolutely sucked. Try flying through a MI snowstorm, I felt like I was on a frozen episode of Lost. Anyways, I made it back safe from Denver and now I have some stories to examine.

First off, I will start off by talking about Ron Artest! This beast of a man was involved in one of the world's worst displays of unruly animalistic behavior. The Piston-Pacer brawl was seen by NBA fans all over the country and gave the city of Detroit, I mean Auburn Hills a bad rap. Now this fool is speaking out about wanting to be traded to the New York Knicks. I thought about Artest's trade request that will cost him $25,000 by the NBA and realized that he would be coached by this man... Artest could be a Knickerbocker as early as next week. Hypothetically, Larry Brown could be coaching the player that single handedly caused the "Malice at the Palace"

Speaking of the Pistons, check out Big Ben and his sexy specs. Shouldn't there be rules about this in the NBA dress code policy?

Finally, you've got to see this! For all of you College football fans, there is a reason why Reggie Bush is the Heisman Trophy winner. His moves were sick back in high school and thanks to the Muffin Man and the New York Times we can all witness his greatness.

Hi guys,
I will introduce three of my favorite characters that happen to be my friends in this post. The first is The Muffin Man, he is a sports God and will be a great asset to my site. The second is "The Island Girl Willie", who loves his Tigers and Lions with all his heart. And Finally "The Girlfriend", who is one of the world's greatest chef's and boy does he make a mean pot of chili! I will design caricatures for each of this shady fellows next week.

Greetings earthlings,

My name is The Sports Meshugenuh and I'm entering the blogging world with a BANG!!!!

First let me explain the true meaning of the Sports Meshugenuh...the word Meshugenuh is a Yiddish word meaning: 1.) a crazy person, and 2.) a madman! For those of you who already know me, I'm one of the craziest sport's junkies on the planet. I am a madman when it comes to stats and fantasy sports. Every year I compete in fantasy Baseball, Football, and Basketball. I have been known to be in multiple leagues for prizes, but I also am a true sick f--- because I enroll in free leagues to keep track of stats for players who I am watching.

For example, this year I am in a fantasy Basketball league for prizes, but I also have three other fantasy Basketball teams that are not for prizes. I use one for players that are rising stars such as rookies. I use another for players who are injured, so I know the exact date they will begin playing again. And finally, I use my third team to draft my favorite players without worrying about their stats at all. By doing this for the last couple of years I have figured out many trends within the fantasy sports world and have almost always had a winning team.

Every post, I will give you my top sports picks. I will also have contests in the future to give out free The Sports Meshugenuh t-shirts and sports memorabilia. I will also share stories and pictures of everything going on in the sports world. Furthermore, I'm giving expert information for fantasy leagues to give you the edge. I'm not using this site to make any bets for myself or to make money off gambling! In layman terms I'm your sports Guru and you are using my site to make your own decisions about gambling, l'cha-yihm!
